Is Your Team High Performance?

Team Coaching

get results with your team

High performance teams
successfully combine producing results
with the positive feelings it takes
to energize and sustain those results over time.

Unfortunately, teams in the corporate world
don’t always hit on both dimensions.

Sometimes you’re on a team that produces great results, but everyone’s left burned out and miserable getting there. Other times, the team is a lot of fun to be on, with great relationships, but the results just aren’t there. Either case is dissatisfying and a recipe for disaster.

Let’s transform your team into a High Performance machine that gets results in a way that feels great
and sustains itself over time.

How This Works:

Team coaching with me is a 6-month, 3-phased process as follows:

1. Assessment Workshop

We begin with a baseline team effectiveness measurement using the Team Diagnostic Assessment. All members of the team complete the assessment, followed by a 1 or 2 day workshop with the team to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Learn the Team Diagnostic model
  • Debrief the team’s results on the Team Diagnostic Assessment
  • Establish a relationship with me, their Team Coach (and sometimes another co-leader).
  • Engage the team in experiential learning about themselves as a team system, where they’re working well together and where they’re not.  We use the TDA results as a framework.
  • Create a Team Development Plan, detailing what the team wants to work on, and how they want to grow — collectively — as a team.

2. Team Development

We meet monthly as a team to follow up on accountability, assess how well we’re doing against the plan, and dive deeper into topics relevant to the team’s current needs. During these sessions, much as in the kickoff workshop, we work with the entity of the team, rather than coaching the individuals.

3. Re-Assessment

The team takes the Team Diagnostic Assessment a second time and the results are debriefed in a half-day workshop. During the workshop, we compare the progress made over the course of the 6 months, both quantitatively between the two assessments reports, as well as qualitatively against the development plan and the team’s perception of itself. The team learns how to develop and sustain itself over time.

he taught us what it means to be a high performing team, and more importantly, he challenged us and coached us to get there.

I came to Mike for help developing my HR leadership team. Starting with a team assessment, he taught us what it means to be a high performing team, and more importantly, he challenged us and coached us to get there. Mike has a great combination of facilitation skills, a coaching approach, and knowledge of what makes teams thrive. Plus he's a blast to work with!
